a wise man once said "i see all the angles but my execution is crap." i would just say that i'm a lazy asshole who never finishes what he starts. either way here we are october 1st 2005 and what was supposed to be an epic amount of content from all of our various and varying artists, from rock, to electronica, to hip-hop, to all three together, to some shit that would probably make you scratch your head and skip to the next track, is in reality, and painfully unsurprisingly, only one song. the first song. the seed to the now dead and withered tree that was supposed to take root in the soil of awknerd.
it started with the guitar part for this track back in march or april, and niv's idea to make some music. pretty soon the ideas were flying faster than we could handle them. we were so consumed with writing new songs, and developing the overall concept, that nothing was ever really finished. the scope of the vision exceeded the practicality of making music over the internet with three people scattered across the country. that, and we all had lives.
so here is the fruit of eight months of labor. one song. and its nothing more than a demo at that. it probably wouldn't have seen the light of day if not for the self-imposed due date we put up here, but nevertheless, it shows the potential of what might one day still show up in this space. there's still a lot of music being made out there, so if you like what you hear check back here from time to time and you may find something even better. if you don't like what you hear, i'd like to see you do better you stupid motherfucker.
